Friday night was the JOSH TURNER concert, which Nana and I really liked, although the younger family members and guests thought it was kind of slow. (Ok, that's why the next night featured Lynard Skinnard!)
Saturday night Sophie, Gabi and Corbin really, REALLY wanted to just ride a couple of rides at the carnival, so Nana and I took them and told them they could ride on 3 kiddie rides or 2 of the big rides. Oh yeah, what do you think they chose? So much for the quantity game!
Surprisingly, they weren't scared and didn't back out like I expected them to. Oh no. They announced that they couldn't wait til we got them armbands (that's all the rides you can go on for $30) and that they'd nix the kiddie rides forever. Kind of sad, huh? However, when armbands were on, kiddie rides were in! On Sunday, Brad and I and Gramma went to Denver to see Mom's new place and to bring her here for a few days. I made the mistake of trusting my GPS to get there (the darned thing doesn't pick up on operator error and I neglected to put "south" in the address, so we ended up going there via the scenic (?) route down Wadsworth). Mom's new place is really nice and I think she's reasonably content there. It was nice for Gramma to go with us and see the place.
Nebraska news! Our Ogallalans are coming Wednesday for a few days! We are excited to see them! Emma sent me a couple of pictures...finally....! Meredith is learning to quilt with her friend Kelly and began her quilt this weekend. Having never sewn, that's quite an undertaking. I'm thrilled!
So, just for a little humor today, I thought I'd share some pictures of some of the other Carnival goers with you. I think I might've been underdressed!
