The Traveling Salon

This week, Gabi returned home from her ten (yes, count them, 10) day stay with Nana in California. (Thanks, Nana for all of your efforts into providing a wonderful time). She was certainly missed here by her brother, Mom and Dad, Sophie and by me.  Sarah and Trent flew in with her Friday night and at this post are already loading up for their flight back.  Sarah's visits are always entirely too short!  Saturday was the hair extravaganza (part 1) followed by the last of the "appointments" completed on Sunday.
The boys played outside on the
water slide for several hours while everyone got their haircuts/colors done.
Grayson thought that he was just one of the 5 year olds and attempted (with much success) to
keep up with Corbin and Trent on the slide!  I tried to remain dry (unsuccessfully) while helping him up the slide and taking a few photos.  I'm pretty sure he had a great nap afterwards!

Saturday night, Brad and I took a break from family time and celebrated the completion of another round of chemo (4 months out of the 6) with a dinner at Bonefish (thanks, kids, for the Father's Day gift cards).  Lovely! As a bonus, we emerged from the restaurant to an amazing rainstorm, which we badly needed.
Sunday, the boys (Brad, Curt, Spencer and Matt) played golf at the Mad Russian course while the girls took the kids to the pool.  All of the kids (with the exception of Grayson, who won't be far behind) can now jump off the diving board and swim in the deep end.  I stayed at home and caught up on laundry and made dinner for the crew.... ham, cheesy crockpot potatoes, corn on the cob and an awesome cucumber, tomato, avocado, cilantro salad.  After dinner, we discussed our trip to Ogallala, making meal plans and lists for next weekend. We are excited to see where our peeps live!
This weekend, Meredith and her family were house/dog sitting for her friend Kelly and sent me this picture of Elijah.  Can you see him amongst the dogs?
