Too much company and too little time to write the blog this week....Maybe just a few highlights
....
School is out for the summer. The last few days of school are always hard to get through, as are the first days of summer vacation with "nothing to do".
The Eaton elementary school had their field day and Carrie was able to attend. Looks like that was fun!
Mid week, my brother, David stopped by on his way back to Iowa. Good visiting with him and sharing an old photo album with pictures of our Grandparents.
On Saturday, Carrie, Meredith and I took Emma and Gabi to Picasso and Wine as they had a kids class that day, painting a picture of a pig. Cute!
Sunday brought a perfect (?) day for a mountain hike. I would've gone, but my foot is giving me "fits". So, Meredith, Kelly and Elijah went while Emma and I stayed at home. Surprisingly, their hike was cut short when they encountered Mother Nature while at the top of the trail. They scurried back down, but were unable
to avoid getting soaked to the skin!
Amie
took the kids to the zoo that day.
The Yaws family came for the weekend, so a big BBQ was held in their honor at Carrie and Spencer's house on Sunday. Great fun and awesome seeing the Yaws! The kids were great and played outside most of the afternoon.

The boys were of course, having their usual fun in the garage. Spencer had a poster that was thought to resemble him, so he tried it out!
Pretty good likeness, I think.
Brad spent time repainting the railing around the driveway.
Curt and Spencer picked up a new walker for Gramma (new, with tags) at a garage sale for $10. They couldn't have gotten her anything more thoughtful. She LOVES it! And, just to confirm that, planted a big smooch on each of their cheeks! Where was my camera at that moment?
Pam stopped by to spend the night on Monday on her way to camp and paint in eastern Colorado and western Nebraska. Unfortunately, her plan went awry when she realized that her broken ribs (from a hiking fall a couple of weeks prior) made it too uncomfortable to pursue her plan. (At this posting, she is feeling much better).
Thursday night, I zipped home from work, packed and was ready to depart with Corbin and Gabi to Grandma Nana's house for the weekend (Carrie and Spencer were off to the Domincan to celebrate their 10th anniversaries along with the Fields and the Yarnells).
Friday morning, we had appointments with Sarah for much needed haircuts/colorings. Gabi really wanted some highlights, and was in a quandary as to which colors to get, put settled for pink and yellow.
Afterwards, Nana drove us to Balboa for Balboa bars, a ferry ride and a walk around the area, where we spotted the house that we stayed at for Sarah and Travis' wedding 6 years ago!
Sweet memories!
That evening we were invited to Sally's house for dinner and a swim. The boys sure had fun, although their visit made Richard nervous.
After dinner, we went to Sarah's to help decorate for Emi's birthday party held on Saturday. Before the party, Nana drove us to Kelly (Szabo) vintage flea market where we spent time looking over her "finds". Good seeing her and her family.
We headed back to Nana's to get ready for the big party! I will blog THAT event next!
