End of April

Pinterest!

Busy weekend!  Friday night I hosted a Pampered Chef party, so that entailed cleaning (yup, it needed it) and some snack preparation (thank you, once again, Pinterest).  Fun time- good eats, drinks and friends.  Great having a little time with Anne, whom I rarely see!
On Saturday, Carrie and I went to a Scrapbooking Crop and spent the day together, getting caught up on our scrapbooks.
Sunday, Amie ran in the Cherry Creek Sneak, a 10 mile run, which she finished in 90 minutes. Yay!  Curt and Matt played golf in Denver, while Heather (Amie's sister) watched the kids.  Inspiration??
Sunday rolled around too quickly.  We made a yummy dinner (90% Brad, and 10% me) of pulled pork (crockpot style) with cole slaw and Paula Deens recipe for "verts".  Ok, also known as green beans. They had fresh tomatoes and kalamata olives, along with garlic to make them scrumptious!  After dinner, there was a family conversation about having a stand at the Stampede this year, featuring these sandwiches. Lots of unique ideas as to what to call this booth....
Spencer offered to advertise, by eating them all day with the sauce running down his chin!  Gabi made a castle with Gramma's wine cork stash and Rory helped by drawing the dragon. Got my first pictures of Grayson in the bathtub.

Spring has sprung

We had a gorgeous weekend, weather wise.  It's definitely Spring at last!
Rory and Amie ran in a 5K race Saturday morning, in preparation for the Boulder Boulder (twice as long) coming at
the end of May.  We're not sure Rory envisioned 10K being as long as it is!  Very proud of him for finishing this first attempt.
Amie is training for her first half marathon race next month...running lots and lots of miles!
My job as " camera- gram" (yeah, I like that word) was to jump out of the car periodically and take pictures throughout the race.

Sunday was another fabulously beautiful day.  No wind, even!  Sophie had requested that Grandpa make those dip sandwiches again, so out came the roasts, green & red peppers and provolone.  Spencer and Carrie and family were
invited to go boating at Boyd Lake, so now Spencer has the "boat bug" once again!
After dinner, the kids did some chalkboard drawings on the lower patio...They are all quite artistic!

By the way, Emma is destined to be a wonderful babysitter in the very near future.  She really is so good with the little kids!

Spring Break

All of the kids have been on Spring Break this week.  Curt and Amie and the kids plus Amie's Mom (Susan) went to North Carolina for the week.  We have loved getting all of the pictures sent via phone to us while they were gone.

They got home in time for Sunday dinner. Whew! On Friday, Brad, Meredith and I took the kids (Emma, Elijah, Gabi and Corbin to the Zoo.  It was a perfect day, weatherwise.  I remember how it's usually so hot, but not this time.  The kids were exhausted and all four went to bed early.

Here they are all trying to see how far they can jump!

We had a Pinterest inspired dinner on Sunday.  I found a recipe for
a chicken, pasta, spinach casserole and Brad made that along with
the broccoli/cauliflower salad that we all love.  Sunday ended early
as Amie and Curt had been up since 1:00am (NC time) to catch their
flight home, and the Frost kids were pooped!

Easter

Bunny Bread

Meredith's bunny butt cake
Shoes? What shoes?

Sophie lost her first upper tooth

Just pondering....how did I ever do a holiday, pre-Pinterest?  Even my son and son-in-law noted the inspirations. The cake was made by Meredith (bunny butt).  We had a great day!  Dinner was awesome with ham, homemade mac-n-cheese and beans (Carrie) , fresh asparagus and a few bottles of wine!  Brad made a rhubarb/strawberry cobbler, having located rhubarb after several grocery outings.  After dinner, we all went outside and watched the kids hunt for eggs & later on the patio, we had a great game of Mexican dominoes.

Last Sunday was amazing.  It was 87 degrees, then plunged to 47 on Monday, and snowed on Tuesday.  Yep, that's Colorado weather.  Our Sunday dinner was one of the family favorites- brisket.  Brad has an incredible rub for it, and although it is time consuming to trim the brisket, we all agree it is a favorite.  As always, we had the spicy coleslaw with it. So delicious!  I finally got around to getting my Easter decor in place.....little time to spare!
